Agoura Athletics Team Commitment

Being a member of an athletic team is both a tremendous honor and a significant responsibility. Teams practice on a daily basis during their season, often including Saturdays. Sports that run through school vacation frequently have practices and/or games scheduled during vacation time.   Once a student is on a team, he or she is expected to complete the season. This includes attendance at all games and practices.

Tennis Athletic Donation

Our athletic programs are dependent on the generous financial support of our parents. Without your contributions, especially with the current fiscal crisis in education, athletics at Agoura High School would struggle to exist.

The calculated average cost per student athlete to run our tennis program is $350.  $175 of that $350 goes to the Athletic Department to help pay for the necessary transportation associated with student athlete travel.  The remaining $175 goes directly to the BOYS TENNIS PROGRAM to help pay for uniforms, equipment and clinics. (The above is strictly a donation and no student athlete will be denied the opportunity to participate in a sport if a donation is not made to the program.)

Donation Collection – Tax Id # 95-2222290

I ask that donations be submitted ASAP, preferably Tonight so we can order uniforms.

Please make out 2 separate checks:

Check #1 - $175 to Agoura High School  - Transportation

Check #2 - $175 to Agoura High School -  Boys Tennis Trust #366

FINAL - 2017 Boys Tennis Roster

It is with great pleasure that I announce the FINAL 2017 Boys Tennis Roster.  Congratulations to those listed below, as you have all officially been selected as members of the 2017 Agoura High School Boys Tennis Team.

Turnout for our tryouts was truly amazing.  Over 35 young men came out to compete for the 24 available spots (12 Varsity - 12 JV).  In past seasons we have carried a max of 21 players, but I have decided to add 3 additional spots based on the turnout and level of talent.

Varsity and JV Teams have been appropriately designated below.  As I stated at the tryouts, there will be ample opportunity for JV players to step into the Varsity roll throughout the season.  Work hard, be a leader, compete and opportunities will arise.

Thank you to all who came out to tryouts.  Your hard work, dedication, and positive attitudes were amazing.

REMINDER - There is a MANDATORY Player & Parent meeting this Thursday night, February 16th at 6:30 pm in Coach Correia's classroom D-11.  You must be in attendance.

While no student will be denied the opportunity to participate based upon the inability to contribute to the program, we are asking for donations to help offset the cost of running an athletics program at this school.

Donation Collection

I ask that donations be submitted to me directly ASAP after tryouts are complete.

Please make out 2 separate checks:

Check #1 - $175 to Agoura High School  - Transportation

Check #2 - $175 to Agoura High School -  Boys Tennis Trust #366

I’m looking forward to a great Season ahead filled with fun and success!

Work Hard – Be Brave!

IMPORTANT LETTER FROM OUR ATHLETIC DIRECTOR:

Hello Chargers,

Welcome to the Spring sports season! We look forward to providing a great experience for your daughter or son within our athletic department.  We want to make sure we provide an environment for your child to reach their full potential in their sport, while teaching life lessons. Please visit this link for athletic clearance information and more: http://agouraathletics.org/main/otherad/contentID/39931787.  We invite you and your athlete to attend the Spring Athlete/Parent Meeting on Wednesday, February 1st 2017 at 6:00pm in the PAEC.  For more information, visit our website:

http://agouraathletics.org/main/adnews/ID/42170817.

If you have not made the Athletic Donation for the spring sport yet, you can write a check to Agoura High School for $175 and bring it to the Activities and Athletics Center. Or, you can make the payment online here: https://webstores.activenetwork.com/school-software/agoura_high_school_c/index.php?l=product_list&c=73.

Our athletic programs are dependent on the generous financial support of our parents. Without your contributions, athletics at Agoura High School would struggle to exist. While no student will be denied the opportunity to participate based upon the inability to contribute to the program, we need your donations to help offset the costs of running an athletic program. The calculated average cost per student athlete to run a program is $175 per sport per year.  Our biggest cost is transportation. Any contribution made will be used to defray the following expenses:

  • Over $100,000 in costs related to the transportation expenses.
  • Over $30,000 in official/umpire/referee fees.
  • Over $20,000 in tournament entry fees.
  • Over $10,000 in costs for safety & first aid equipment & supplies.
  • Athletic equipment and facility improvements.

If you are unable to make the donation in full, you may make payments.  If the $175 donation is too much of a financial burden for you, please inform me.  Thank you for your support of Chargers Athletics and I look forward to a great spring season!  Visit www.agouraathletics.org for schedules, updates, info, and more!
